Quantum Principles in Action

Posted on March 21, 2022

In this Ted Talk, we hear elements of quantum thinking in the leadership of change. Jim Hemerling posits that in the era of “always-on” transformation, organizations are always going to be transforming. But doing so does not have to be exhausting. We owe it to ourselves, to our organizations and to society more broadly to boldly transform our approach to transformation. To do that, we need to start putting people first. He sees change as invigorating rather than exhausting and cites 5 imperatives for leading change:

  1. Put people first and connect them to a deeper purpose.
  2. Go “all in” – Invest in growth, leadership and talent.
  3. Enable people with the capabilities they need for succesful change.
  4. Instill a Culture of Continuous Learning.
  5. Practice inclusive leadership.
